Communication Systems Engineer

Serves as Communication Systems Engineer with emphasis in Digital Satellite/Wireless Communications. Develops, integrates and documents RF communication transmitter receiver implementations (hardware & software development). This position is intended to facilitate the development of requirements for component or system level design for satellite, airborne, terrestrial product lines. Guides product design including all requirements from other engineering organizations to meet customer needs. Understanding of analysis tools and ability to lead design throughout the product life-cycle to develop the engineering requirements, design, characteristics, performance and test/integration.

Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph Clearance Level
Must Be Able to Obtain: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph (BI current if not active)
Place of Performance: DC Metro Area and potentially from home
Job Schedule: Full-time (Start Immediately)

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Required Qualifications:

• Years of experience: 10
• Degree: Masters or PhD
• Degree area: Engineer (EE, Physics, Math)

• Communications Engineer (hands on analysis)
• Digital signal processing, Statistical Signal Processing
• RF/Digital Hardware Design
• Software Defined Radio
• Systems Engineering
• Link Analysis, Signal Design, and Receiver design
• Modeling and Simulations
• Fluent in Python, Javascript, and Linux
• Experience in both SQL and NoSQL Databases, including MySQL and MongoDB

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Optical Communications
• Experience with Network Engineering
• Experience with classified cloud computing & security accreditation
• Experience in Server-Side Python frameworks, such as Tornado and Flask
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Commercial Cloud technologies, and Container Computing, including Docker and Kubernetes
